Sensitive to the concept of environmental protection, and on our very small scale,
we opt for an approach which tends to be as ecological as possible, in our
everyday life and for welcoming our guests.
We are very committed to offering our guests a healthy and natural environment,
ecologically responsible, so that they enjoy the most pleasant stay possible.
For this we are implementing several actions:
From the gîte, you can walk to the bakery, the butcher (two butchers in Samer) or the fruit and vegetable merchant after a short walk or bike ride.
We encourage the use of bikes (2 bikes can be loaned, on request, non-electric bikes), and walking.
We opt, as far as possible, for local organic consumption or which tends towards.
For those who wish to obtain products from organic and local agriculture, here are a few local addresses (non-exhaustive list of course) within 30 minutes by car from the gîte :
- Every Tuesday, Lydie comes to sell us, at Domaine de Hauterive, her fish straight from Boulogne sur mer and caught the same day.
- Louis PLANQUE “Aux Sources, organic market gardening” in Wierre au Bois 25 mins walk from the cottage or 5 mins by car.
- Possibility of obtaining flour from ancient organic wheat from a local producer Didier FINDINIER.
- Goat cheese at Wirwignes “la Chèvrerie du petit Quenneval”
- Ellen CAZIN and Philippe COMPIEGNE in Wirwignes producer of butter, cream and raw milk cheese from their cows.
- Organic bakery in Boulogne sur mer ” Les farines d’Emile”.
- Two Biocoop stores in Boulogne sur mer and Saint Martin de Boulogne.
- Grouping of organic and non-organic “Vert de terre” producers in Boulogne sur mer.
